First introduced into the construction sector during the early 1990s, TPO roofing takes the form of a single-ply membrane that requires few seams. This membrane is comprised of a bottom layer of TPO polymer, a middle layer of polyester-reinforced scrim, and a top layer of TPO compound.


According to the National Roofing Contractors Association, TPO roofs have grown in popularity over the years and currently represent 40 percent of the commercial roofing market. Among its other benefits, TPO roofing is low in cost, highly durable, energy efficient, and relatively easy to install.
